Banksia
Banksias come in all different shapes and sizes, with over 170 different species across Australia! Some are dense, woody shrubs (that are easy for bettongs to get stuck in) and others are tall, tall trees! They have cone shaped flowers in warm colours like yellow and orange surrounded by spikes.

Bettong
Bettongs are little marsupials that only live in Australia! They are about the size of a rabbit and have long tails, as long as their whole body! They have fur in gray, brown and ginger that helps them blend in with their surroundings (this is called camouflage!) Some are smaller than others as there are five different species of bettong. Rufous bettongs are the largest of all the bettong species!

Bittern
Australasian bitterns (Botaurus poiciloptilus) are tall, secretive birds with black, brown and white feathers that live in wet, reedy areas where they can hide and find their favourite foods like frogs, bugs, lizards and fish. They have an eerie song, but Rufous doesn’t need to worry, he is a bettong after all!
